When Floridian's talk about seasons, it is typically Hurricane Season or Rainy Season. And while we may not share the same seasonal changes that northerners share, our seasons are just as important. South Florida (Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, etc. areas) generally receives temperatures in the mid-to-upper 70s and low ’80s during the winter months (meaning December 21 - February 28). South Florida weather is considered semi-tropical, or if you want to use meteorologist terminology it's an equatorial climate which means, the weather is a type of tropical climate in which there is no dry season.
Not only is there no dry season in South Florida, we really don't even have four seasons for that matter. We do not have a true summer or a true winter like most of the United States. Last month I woke up to two 40 degree days. Today it is 81 degrees here and we need the services of an air conditioner in the car. We have to learn to Layer our clothes, because 40 degrees can turn into 70 when the sun is at it's peak. Therefore, I keep a sweater/cardigan with me at all times.
