We have survived 2021 and Celebrated the coming of 2022 with gusto. Now, just cruise thru January and make plans to Enjoy spending time with Yourself and your loved ones. This month for Me, it's all about getting rid of shit stuff that did not work, or get used in the past twelve months. You may also want to Marie Kondo your dressing room. I have already started on my skincare and since I do label the opening date of each item. I've already trashed the expired products. Now about the replacements. . .
1. Cleanser: I do not believe in spending a lot of money on facial cleansers, because they go on and off in minutes. So, any store brand for oily skin will do for me.
2. Serums: More is not better in my book, so I do not pile on too many products (they all call it Cocktail). I have two items to use on alternate nights - Discoloration Correcting Serum from Good Molecules & Buffet from The Ordinary. They are now available at Ulta.
3. Moisturizer: Keeping skin hydrated is great and since I have been Blessed with oily skin. I use the thinnest moisturizer I can find. Again, I do not spend a lot of money on this. Currently using Cerave Daily Moisturizing lotion.
4.Exfoliation: I do exfoliate twice per week because I tend to have acne. I just started using the Pineapple Exfoliating Powder from Good Molecules. For my Daily use it's the Glycolic Exfoliating Toner on a cotton pad after cleansing.
5. Vitamins A B & C: My Vitamin A (Tretinoin) comes in the form of Curology prescription along with Vitamin B (Niacinamide). The Rx will end soon and since I did not see much difference in the seven months usage. I'm now looking for alternates. Vitamin C is 23% from The Ordinary.
6. Sunscreen: I use Supergoop Everyday Sunscreen SPF50.
Previously, I wrote detailed posts about Skincare here & about Retnoids Here.
Skincare is very Personal. And, what I use/like may NOT work for You. Everyone has their own tried and true products. But, you should always do a review of what you have, and see what is available to treat your skincare woes. I have a tendency to look at all the current options and research the ingredients. PennSmith Skincare has an extensive YouTube Library filled with great skincare information for every skin type. She tests all the New stuff, and compares the ingredients all in a pleasant manner. Her library serves me well.
Once the skincare closet is re-organized, I will be ready to plan my vacation outfits for our Cruise in July - if the darn Pandemic allows us to go. Look at our Life Now! Who woulda thunk it???
