We the People have been stressed to the maxx. 2020 has been a year like no other. . . the Losses, the Pain/Suffering and Anxiety was so much to endure, some of us almost lost our minds. The Pandemic brought us all that we did NOT want nor need, including financial insecurity and the fear of getting sick every hour of the day. Now, that a Vaccine is on the horizon (The first group got their shots already!) We will have to wait our turn and continue to be extra careful with social distancing & wearing our masks. New Year celebrations will not be the same and we have to continue to pray for an end to these dark days. With all the mess that this year brought, we can clearly say we intend to jump up & down when the ball drops on New Year's Eve in Celebration.
We will open the Book. It's pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity, and its first chapter is New Year’s Day!
As we reflect on how we got to this point in our lives. The lyrics of Koffee’s (Reggae Artist) song . .“Where will we go, when di quarantine ting done?” sure comes to my mind. I have to ask . . . “When this pandemic is over & life goes back to some semblance of normalcy. . Where will you Go, How will we Grow? Will each of us come out of this a better person than before COVID? Did we learn anything under the constraints of shutdown? What new skills have we acquired? It is time to Focus on what is really, really Important to You/Us and start again Renewed
.
Too many have lost loved ones due to the Pandemic, and part of their hurt is that they are still angry. And, anger has kept them from Forgiveness. In my family we lost several members to Covid and YES. . we are still angry. But, my Cousin who lost her only child to the disease, reminds me that her child lived a good life, even though it was cut short - God knows Best! She finds comfort in her God, her family and friends. And, that is what life is all about Gratefulness. Let’s face it, many of us need a little housecleaning from time to time, and the pandemic gave us a chance for a Re-Do. Time to Recalibrate; Reorganize; Refurbish; Renew; Retire the old and identify new opportunities for a well lived life. I wear my age as a badge of pride & honor, because I am ‘sagging’ wiser by the minute. And, I'm so grateful to celebrate another birthday during this traumatic time. But, there is so much more to do, and the few bad experiences only made me stronger. I intend to continue Living out Loud. . some sort of normal life, where hugs and fellowship reigns because they are so vital to humankind.
