Why Blog

A blogger is someone who blogs, or writes content for a blog. This Blog is truly Therapy for Me.  It is a platform where I can voice my ideas, thoughts and feelings and not worry about the universal nay sayers. The idea that I can write what I want, when I want, and hope that someone reads it, really works to fill those empty spaces of time in my life.  I have retired from working a 9-5 but have not retired my mind and body. This blog is not just a hobby, it’s a place where I can be MYSELF. You can think of it as an online journal or diary, but blogs are used for much more now, like online journalism or a lucrative business.

REASONS I BLOG

  • The blog does not criticize me. It is my safe space that I can be myself and express my successes, failures, hopes, wishes, dreams, and anything in between. Even though it is online to the public, writing and posting here is just cheap therapy.
  • I do like to write and find it exhilarating  to compose a post.
  • I blog to inspire and motivate. Many times I feel compelled to share my story with others so that someone else can say,  “Hey. . . this sounds like something in my life”.  While I have lived a good life, it has not been one without trials and tribulations and I am a “sharer”.  I feel it’s my duty to pass on any tips I have learned to my Sistas.
  • Why I blog? So that I leave a legacy in my own words.  I’m almost certain I will not be writing a book anytime soon, so this blog is my life journey.  One day my Son and Nieces will read this body of work, and realize that I really enjoyed it all.  And, that is the best reason of all!

Blogging has quickly become one of the most popular ways of communicating and spreading information and news. There are literally millions of blogs online and you may just find some new Friends via blogging.  As the internet and technology become more popular, the benefits of blogging or building a website become impossible to ignore. However, unlike prior years, bloggers don’t need to have computer science degrees or HTML knowledge. Super easy software and many “how to start a blog” guides, make it simple and easy to set up a blog in thirty minutes or less. If you’re unsure of whether blogging is right for you, do what I did.  Start with a free blogging platform, [mine was Kurves on Blogger] and when you are ready, transition to a self-hosted solution.  Once you enjoy doing something, you will make time for it!
